First time at the movies
We took Ben to his first movie yesterday. We went to a Veggie Tales movie assuming that my easily scared child wouldn't get scared at a Veggie Tales movie. Boy did this mommy make a mistake. I should have waited until a couple other people went first and gotten their reviews. There were lots of scary things in it. He did great, just covered his ears like he always does when he's scared, but after the movie he had a huge meltdown in the bathroom because I threw away some paper towel and he wanted it. I'm guessing he just had a lot of pent up feelings from the movie that came flying out in the bathroom. It was ugly! If you ask him now he'll tell you the movie was great! He says he's excited to go again!

LOL on the movie thing...I remember our first movie with Matt and Alex was Pocahontas...we left after about 15 minutes. Matt kept crying and saying, "No more Grandma Willow, no more Grandma Willow...." as he was scared to death of that talking tree. Alex, on the other hand, was talking non-stop, and I mean non-stop saying, "Oh, look, there's a canoe, what's the canoe going to do, where is the canoe going? Look at the raccoon, is that a girl or a boy raccoon, what is the raccoon going to do? Does that raccoon belong to the girl or the boy do you think I can have a raccoon or a canoe...." on and on and on and the people behind us said, "Is he going to do this the entire movie?" I said, "No, actually we are leaving now." It seemed like such a good idea at the time...LOL.
We are going to put off the movie experience as long as we can. (Thanks for reaffirming that for me!) At least until she is 5 or 6. Mine is pretty sensitive to any form of evil/bad guy and that is in about every movie.
