1,000,000 pillow cases

So, I took a sewing class. It. was. awful. Beyond awful! I knew walking into it that I would feel overwhelmed, but this was truly horrific. I haven't touched my sewing machine since because I just feel so inept at it!
I really want to get over it. Honest. And I think I may have found a way to do it!
The 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge is getting people to make and donate 1 Million pillowcases to be given to a cancer patient, a foster child, a battered woman, a nursing home patient. Something along those lines to bring something bright and cheerful their way. I figure I can do a pillowcase. And I can be motivated to do it knowing that someone else might just smile from getting to lay their head on it. Now I realize that I'm not going to be doing much to contribute to that total of 1 million, but I can do what I can do. You know, just like that story of the kid on the beach and all of the starfish.
Care to join me?

I know that Harper's in downtown OPKS [http://www.harpersfabricandquilt.com/] is hosting something for this initiative. Maybe we could meet up to work on some pillowcases together!
