Christmas 2010

What a blur of activity! I hate to feel like I don't enjoy Christmas, but I have to be honest - it's exhausting! Lots of family activities plus trying to build our own traditions at home, keeping the kids up late, getting up early. We're all a little stretched thin. It's hard to remember to be the adult sometimes!
But with all of that, I love love love to see my kids' excitement. They love to see everyone dressed up so beautifully for Mass, to see the Nativity set up at church.
And the gift opening! It's so fun to see their eyes get so big. You've never seen anything like Peter opening presents. He trembles with excitement at each gift. At one point he got so excited he couldn't contain himself any longer and ran a lap around the house before he could tell us how much he loved whatever present he just opened. Even about clothes! It's adorable.
Greta really got into it too! I don't think Ben and Peter really got into it at 2, but she has big brothers to copy. She loves seeing Santa and Christmas lights on people's houses, baby Jesus in the manger, and singing carols. It's awfully sweet.
Merry Christmas!!
